We will go next not to a mountain but to another walk such as last time. We will walk around the coast of Sopelana to finally reach Sopelana. We will then go to Berango walking. Maybe this hike will not actually be a hike but a long walk. However, it is still very long and with the hot weather it will not be either an easy task. Some of the other members may have not realized this and probably impulsed by an instict of masculinity have decided this activity is "too easy" or "not challenging enough". Be it. We will have a great time anyways.
During the Activity:
My predictions were right and only 5 members of the Hiking Club, including our leader attented the activity. The activity went on perfectly well and straightforward and with the exception of one issue, everything was fine. Once we reached Sopelana we did not know if return to the underground station in Bidezabal (which is from where we started our hike) or go to Berango ro the Sopelana underground station instead. The plan initially was (or at least I thought this) to go back to Berango. Going to the Sopelana underground station would make the hike too short and going back to Bidezabal would make the walk too repetitive. Going back our own steps, in my point of view, was far too boring. So at the end we indeed decided to go to Berango. We had a great and relaxing time.
After the Activity:
There are too many members in the Hiking Club. The abundant majority of the members do not bother to attend our activities and I believe that if they are really dedicated to the Hiking Club as this activity needs people to be, they should attend every activity if they could. Saying that it is not challenging enough is an easy way to escape one's responsibilities. If you are a member of the Hiking Club, you should obviously go to the Hiking Club! It does not make sense to be a member and go once or twice a year. I believe most members should just leave and stop messing up the activities. Having said so, the activity was an excellent experience, as always. Our leader has coordinated everything and has made this club one which always functions perfectly. I think she deserves a lot of respect thanks from all of us members because she has done up until know (and I would guess that will keep doing so) an impecable job.
