Some of my classmates and I have started with the Movie Night CAS activity. In this activity my class organizes an afternoon doing fun activities such as watching a movie or playing games we all prepare for them. In addition to it, so that they will not be hungry we also give them some lunch and, of course, pop-corn for the movie. I think this activity will be very interesting. I think we will be capable of organizing and carrying out this event without major issues. I believe this because I feel completely capable of doing this job and I think the rest of my classmates which are taking part on the event are capable too.
During the Activity
At first, we experienced some technical difficulties because the computer we were to use to play the movie on did not work. After looking all around the school to find one which was compatible with the projector connector we finally found one. I was in charge of the process and I was relieved when everything turned out alright. The rest of the event was a success. The movie looked great on the giant screen of the Auditorium and all of the little kids were enjoying the movie (and the pop-corn and lunch, of course).
After the Activity
It has been a very enjoyable experience and we will certainly repeat it more times. Our first Movie Night was great nevertheless, I want to organize everything on a earlier day next time. This time there were a series of problems, mainly technological (there was no working computer, and no speakers for the movie) which I managed to solve. At the end everything turned out all right but still, I want not to risk it in the future.
The following CAS objectives have been reached:
2. Undertaken new challenges (taking part on a group like this one is something completely new
to me and with it a complete new series of challenges to complete)
4. Worked collaboratively with others (Cooperation is a key point in this project and it is primordial
to be able to collaborate within a group)
Below I have posted images of this splendid day during the Movie Night activity:
